CHAPTER REPRESENTATIVE | present
ADOBE InDesign User Group - Orlando Chapter
One successful recent accomplishment is the formation of the Orlando Chapter of the ADOBE InDesign User Group. I plan the events and acquire certified and professional speakers each month. We have had over a half a dozen successful meetings, with an average of 60 to 80 graphic professional attendees. We meet on the fourth Tuesday each month at DMAC - Downtown Media Arts Center. Adobe supports this venture in a big way. Our meetings address Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, GoLive and just about any related professional graphic application. We feature presentations by industry experts, local designers, and Adobe representatives. We explore their experiences, projects, how they did it, what programs they used and how these programs work. We share and learn at the same time, in a great setting, with people who have similar interests. Orlando Artists and designers, interested professionals or amateurs, everyone is invited to this exciting new user group. Read notes and see photos from current meetings at www.InDesignOrlando.com

WHAT IS GRAPHIC DESIGN?
|
|
"Graphic Design is the directed communication of information and ideas. These messages can be created for broad segments of the public or for very specific members of the community. Graphic Design can affect the outdoor environment, interior architecture, electronic screens, books, magazines, advertisements, posters, video, and film. Graphic designers create visual statements that can make information more accessible, advocate political positions, address social issues, entertain, advertise, and evoke strong emotions."
